Health economics uses mathematical models to synthesize data from biostatistics and epidemiology for cost/pricing decision making. Outcomes research includes medically related research which investigates the benefits & results of healthcare practices. This study uses epidemiology to link healthcare outcomes (quality of care, quality of life) with independent variables such as geography, income, or lifestyle.
